We have had a great beginning to the school year! The new students have enjoyed exploring the different areas in the classroom. They have also begun to become familiar with the rules and the classroom commitment to community. Returning students have been terrific helpers and role models for our new friends.
Ask your child about our new pet! "Bubbles" is a beautiful Siamese fighting fish. We enjoy watching him swim gracefully in his bowl.
We just completed an unit on the life cycle of a butterfly. We watched our live caterpillars make their crystalis and then hatch into beautiful Painted Lady butterflies. The children loved seeing them released into our outdoor classroom. This lesson incorporated many areas in our room including art, science, math, language and even social studies. Our next unit will be about the fall season with discussions about botany, birds, wildlife, weather, etc.
