We are off to a great start in Room 2! The students are responding well to the rules and routines of the classroom. They are learning to become more independent as well as learning the basic principles of respect that nurture the sense of community within the classroom: respect for self, respect for work, and respect for each other. Our returning students have been wonderful mentors to our new students.

We just completed our unit on the life cycle of the butterfly. We watched our live caterpillars form into their crystalis and then hatch into beautiful Painted Lady butterflies that we released in our outdoor classroom. We learned how to measure using our caterpillar rulers. The children also made unique butterflies using their footprints.

In preparation for Cultural Month in October, we will begin a study of the continents. More information about Cultural Month activities will be coming soon!

Thanks!
